Structure:

Nucleic Resources C3 MMT aminolinker may be used to directly add a primary aliphatic (C3) amine group to the 5' end of an oligonucleotide. Using trityl-ON synthesis protocols, the MMT amine protecting group is retained after standard ammonium hydroxide cleavage and deprotection. When used with the trityl-ON protocol, this allows simple purification of the oligonucleotide by either RP cartridge or by RP HPLC.
The presence of a primary aliphatic amine group at the 5' terminus of an oligonucleotide allows the post-synthesis attachment of any number of amine reactive molecules.
