Nucleic Resources 6-FAM phosphoramidite may be used to directly add 6FAM dye to the 5' end of an oligonucleotide. This amidite does not contain a DMT protecting group and can only be added to the 5' terminus of the oligonucleotide and the DMT group cannot be used as a lipophilic handle for purification (as it does not exist).
